Giving your boss who honks of raw garlic a cup of parsley tea or a few parsley leaves, fennel seeds and caraway seeds to chew or burning incense in his or her office even though it may work, may not be a good idea. If you are into advancement offer garlic capsules or powder.
Garlic counters most negative influences on the cardio vascular system----very useful to take a clove or two when dealing with government and municipal officials or home training the new puppy.
The combination of amino acids, polyphenols, amino acid derivatives, vitamins and sulphuric compounds (Alliin is responsible for many beneficial effects) in garlic are a google advert for good health and disease prevention. It is just so easy to add a chopped clove to a sandwich or any meal. Such a nice way to screw big Pharma of their hold on society –of course they may counter by trying to patent garlic.
As a natural antibiotic it kills off or inhibits the bacteria that cause ear infection: Staph infections from enteritis, stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhoea: bacteria that cause thyroid problems, skin diseases, stomach bugs---the list is endless and if you need to have more detail please e mail me and I will send you more information but I do not want to promote information overload.
Very sadly, most health practitioners are ignorant of the help offered by herbs and certain foods in countering the side effects of medication especially antibiotics which are used indiscriminately. Even worse is that allopathic practitioners from doctors to welfare workers are ignorant of the side effects caused---for example hundred of millions of people are infected with the tuberculosis bacterium and are usually treated by a cocktail of antibiotics and garlic prevents the liver damage which may result.
From Russia with Love comes the news that garlic may alleviate most of the symptoms of Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS).
When dealing with a breakdown in one aspect of the body health, it may be wise to treat the whole system rather than focus on a single organ or system. In this way mixtures of herbs may work more effectively than a single herb—some helping with elimination and detoxing. Our mixtures contain herbs, which do all that and fortify the mineral and vitamin supply hence providing a more complete healing process with no side effects.
The process of cutting a herb generates heat so the finer the cut of the herb so too does the potency diminish that little bit. So I recommend the rough tea cut rather than teabags even though it appears to be a mission to make in the rush rush everyday world.
Guidance with professional health practitioners from the naturopath, sangoma, dietician, alternative healer to a MD is an responsible course of action when dealing with any substance affecting your health.
IN MOST CASES WE REFER TO DRIED HERB WHEN ADVOCATING AMOUNTS IN TEASPOON FOR TEAS .
DOUBLE THE AMOUNT WHEN USING FRESH HERB.
These herb properties are directly connected to and derived from the forces of nature - if you want to call it Godhead, Greater hierarchy, Krishna, Yaveh, Allah, it does not matter—these are the forces that we can trust today. So treat the herbs with the respect due to a great natural force, never mind the ravings of a semi lunatic political, media force doing their best to undermine common sense.
In the next newsletter we will deal with Cancerbush in the series called Streetwise - talking about medicinal properties of herbs found growing in the streets, garden and the wild.
Antibiotics work by killing the bacterial cells or preventing their growth and reproduction. So antibiotics are classed by the way they act on the bacteria.
Quinolones and sulphonamides gum up the systems that manufacture DNA.
Tetracyclines prevent the cell factory from producing the basics for the end product, somewhat like unions putting down tools and going on strike and in so doing just screwing up the whole ongoing process so no growth happens----.remind you of something?
If you are taking antibiotics, it may be wise to take an anti oxidant food or tea with it as the dosages result in free radicals which may cause other ill factors.
Both pharmaceutical and alternative antibiotics have their uses. The plant alternatives are usually less invasive, have minimal or no side effects, are relatively much cheaper and notably do not have bacterial resistance because they have had many millenia of interaction with the different bacteria and have developed ways to overcome them such as producing natural antibiotic substances that are bactericidal.
In the west we are blinded by the scientific approach of breaking down a substance to find its potent part: thus excluding all the compounds in the plant which have complementary actions such as preventing side effects and increasing the general potency of the active principal.
Likely you would find herbal antibiotics growing in your garden or hanging round your kitchen waiting for a chance to help.
Synergists such as Rosemary, Thyme, Sage and Lemon Grass act locally and application is usually topical using very low dosages of oils on skin lesions.
The use of a single herb may be good because the many compounds within it act together and the whole action is greater than the sum of the parts.Other herbs added to the mixture cause a much greater action and also a more wideranging effect on the body. The process is called synergy.
