STREETWISE
Rue.
Wynruit.
Ruta Graveolens.
Herb of Grace.

When in Rome do as the Chinese do – imitate ---go to mass and remember when the indulgent priests used bunches of Rue to scatter holy water—so Rue was called the herb of grace. One of the graces it offers is to calm the nerves.

Then play cards in the piazza and wonder why the club suit was fashioned from the Rue plant.

Sip a grappa of Rue with an Italian friend who has Rue planted at their back door to ward away bad spirits.

Thank God we live in modern times where I.T. is going to the clouds, the Chinese are in China and your information and often your life situation is controlled by an elite few.
Where shining the spirit means a dop in a clean glass and when I want to talk to my child upstairs it's likely I will get a quicker response if I tweeted.

All this non common sense is likely to give you high blood pressure and a cup of Rue tea consisting of 1 teaspoon of dried herb in boiling water may bring your BP down to earth and also help that bubbling hysteria... Regular use of Rue combined with other herbs work wonders for the cardiovascular system.

Rutin is the substance in Rue that effects strengthening of the capillaries.
Rutin is a Bioflavonoid –i.e. an intra - terrestrial residing in plant cells that serves to help mankind evolve, in this case to health. Bioflavenoids, which are a group of micronutients ( just as vitamins and minerals are essential ), strengthen the integrity of collagen, which is a major constituent of the human body. Yes collagen, the most plentiful protein in the body.

Collagen is to the body as good cement and steel is to a high-rise building. It features in the blood vessel walls, in the tiny filters in the kidney, structures in the eye and skin. It gives skin its elasticity and unlike the twin towers it ain’t gonna be dive bombed by hidden government forces, ben laden or the mossad/cia complex just to bring FICA related laws into being.(how much control is enough?)
Gentle honest herbs help, they don’t bring more complex situations to an already over complex system—Einstein said that complex systems give rise to complex problems.

Nausea when realizing the government’s active promotion of violence by lack of governing (i.e. stupidity) may be alleviated by Rue tea
Purpura, a skin disease where the superficial blood vessel leak into the skin has benefited greatly when Rue is taken together with vitamin C. Like the song goes--the rue is connected ot the rutin, the rutin connected to the collagen and the collagen strenghtens the capilary walls and hearb the word of the lord.

Rue is used as a tea for gout and rheumatism----usually 2 cups per day of 1 teaspoon dried herb to 1 cup boiling water or a few leaves infused in boiling water. If you cannot handle the bitterness, take a jam jar and fill with leaves and add olive oil and put it in the sun for a few days then use as a massage oil over the rheumatic areas. You can do that process with any herb.

It is often used in conjunction with Buchu for respiratory problems and that mixture, 1 buchu with 1 rue is also great for the kidneys.

Again we suggest a combination of herbs –in this case also to alleviate the taste although some people don’t mind the sleg smaak because then it feels like you are taking a medicine.

Rutin (60 mg per day and also in capsule or pill form) lowers intraocular pressure in Glaucoma patients (by improving the structural integrity of the Collagen content of the Eyes).
Large quantities of Rue will induce abortion and can be dangerous taken in gross excess so when taking any substance that affects your health consult a qualified practitioner.(You don't want to consult the madame of the local whorehouse.)

The Quercitin in Rue is an antioxidant and is beneficial to the kidneys. The colour of the flowers also give an indication: one may use rue for the liver and it is said to promote bile flow from the liver (Cholagogue). The Doctrine of Signatures (observing the physical nature of the herb and animals' relation to it), is an empirical formula used by the ancient ones to determine what a specific herb could be used for --unless you are psychically gifted you don't want to apply that formula to any plant with a yellow flower.

You think your dog has hassles- Our eating habits in the modern space age, greasy fast foods, genetically modified foods, pesticide - herbicide spray on food and computer comfort amongst many causes, prepare the breeding ground within us for worms and parasites – these aliens will rue the day you started drinking a tea that chases them away----a regular rue tea combined with honey, peppermint, lemon, ginger and wilde Als will keep your insides silky clean and smooth and alien free.

When dealing with a breakdown in one aspect of the body health, it may be wise to treat the whole system rather than focus on a single organ or system. In this way mixtures of herbs may work more effectively than a single herb—some helping with elimination and detoxing. Our mixtures contain herbs, which do all that and fortify the mineral and vitamin supply hence providing a more complete healing process with no side effects.

In the next newsletter we will deal with Sage in the series called Kitchen wise - talking about medicinal properties of the usual herbs found in the kitchen.

Cholesterol part 2—Biological Functions

Cholesterol is an important ingredient of steroid and sexual hormones (like a single grandparent) and its main functions are related to those substances, which are
Androgens
Progesterone
Estrogens
Cortisone
Testosterone
Aldosterone

detailed metabolic pathway available on request

Having too low cholesterol is like having a government the parts of which functions with little or no cohesion and service to the whole – that filters through to the municipalities and a low level of well being is experienced. Sound familiar? One answer may be to feed all members of parliament and municipalities sheeps brains exclusively for a month – it is so high in cholesterol it may kill the politicians or wake them up to their irresponsibility --- which would be the better outcome is debateable.

In men androgens are responsible for male sexual organ development and it stimulates muscle growth. For example facial hair growth and deepening of the voice,
If the cholesterol and thus androgens levels are too low, the outer wrapping for the nerves, the myelin sheath, thins. So you can get quite uptight, depressed, stressed and aggressive.

In females progesterone affects sexual desire and sexual organ health. It also keeps the skin healthy, regulates the nervous system and helps with headaches and anxiety.
Progesterone has a mu;titude of actions in many systems: nervous, immune, vascular, musculosceletal, skin and metabolism………..sufficient here to say that it works since general population growth happens.

Estrogens help prepare for pregnancy and have an influence on the blood flow to the brain,
Brain activity including memory improvement and anti Alzheimer effects have been researched and applied.
Cortisone helps with brain activity and keeps the skin healthy
Testosterone has a major effect on the blood system, nervous system and sexual system..

Aldosternoe alleviates hypotension-low blood pressure and balances the kidney by regulating the sodium and potassium balance.

So back to cholesterols functions----

Cholesterol has an intimate relationship with the cell membranes—the love life of chelesterol keeps the skin flexible, youthful and protects the skin from harmful bacteria and dehydration. Too much cholesterol and the cell membrane become rigid. Lucky lips become cardboard lips.

Cholesterol is a constituent of bile so it helps in the absorption of fats.

Cholesterol keeps you chilled and may help the function of the brain and prevent depression.

Reports that cholesterol is an anti oxidant are being taken seriously.

An anti oxidant is a substance that scavenges free radicals. A free radical is a loose connection that causes all sorts of damage in the body, including increasing acidity--Don’t confuse a free radical with a Mahatma Ghandi , a Jan Smuts and a Nelson Mandela -- most fruits and herbs are anti oxidants so the idea is over advertised, even beer is an anti oxidant—maybe the anti oxidant label is used as a con for marketing like the banking hotshots who by encouraging credit to make more billions profit, enslave people in a plastic card trap---- acid rot is not only caused by free radicals.

Remember the KISS principle - (keep it simple stupid)--An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Recent discoveries regarding manufacture of vit D3 in the skin from cholesterol and ultra violet light indicates that anti tumour properties of vit D3 are taken too lightly. Rumour has it that the WHO set up by the rockefellars may want to make vitamins and minerals priscription drugs---Bertrand Russel may have said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely—phew these guys are over the top.

Next issue discuss the toxic effects of cholesterol.

The process of cutting a herb generates heat so the finer the cut of the herb so too does the potency diminish that little bit. So I recommend the rough tea cut rather than teabags even though it appears to be a mission to make in the rush rush everyday world.

Guidance with professional health practitioners from the naturopath, sangoma, dietician, alternative healer to a MD is an responsible course of action when dealing with any substance affecting your health.
