KITCHEN-WISE--THE MEDICINAL VALUE OF KITCHEN HERBS.

ROSEMARY
ROOSMARYN
{Rosmarinus Officinalis}

side of bush

From the Mediterranean shore Rosemary spread to kitchens throughout the world. Not unusual as it has always been considered the herb of friendship and loyalty.

Losing focus? Making a tea of Rosemary stimulates memory and concentration---the Chinese brides wore wreaths of Rosemary at weddings to remember family. Really promising if that kind of recollection can be enhanced by using a herb.

Since the norm in Western society today is insanity the stress alleviating and anti headache properties of Rosemary come in handy when feeling depressed, anxious or stressed. Try some Rosemary with a touch of honey and lemon and chill.
If you have dried rosemary in the kitchen a teaspoon to a cup of boiling water is dosage.
It’s also obtainable as teabags and capsules at health shops.

With Rosemary you are looking at a serious multi tasker---to make your hair manageable and shiny make a tea and use that mixture as a hair wash--Certainly does away with all the chemical additives which are added to shampoos and washes.
The hitch here is it works better with brunettes and redheads
And yet as an oil it will help prevent hair loss for any colour hair be it male or female .
By rubbing Rosemary oil into the scalp it stimulates the hair follicles---to make a mix fill a jam bottle 3⁄4 with olive oil and stuff a batch of fresh rosemary in and leave in the sun for a few days----filter and keep the oil in the fridge.

Rosemary has 2 quite rare organic acids in their natural form--How magical--these acids strengthen the capillaries so lowering high blood pressure and improves circulation so when you add the Rosemary to a roast and foods, remember it is a medicinal feast.
Great also for bad breath and flatulence as a tea and also if eaten raw in salads or included in foods such as soups.

It is not surprising that rosemary helps Arthritic discomfort; it has a high percentage of Rosmarinic acid which has a positive effect on the nerve energy because it works as an anti inflammatory and diuretic.

It is stated that the Carnosol content of Rosemary helps prevent breast cancer--so what does it help if the food we eat is stuffed with dangerous chemicals such as MSG, Aromat and Aspartame.---watch those labels and put your trust in nature--she has more honesty and integrity in one twig than all the multi corporations and chain stores have in their stores and companies.

From the head to the toes it works its magic.
No contraindications with known drugs and no side effects--don’t you wish your medicines could say the same.
Not recommended when pregnant but ok when lactating so not a bad bet and your friend probably has a bush if you don’t.
Its ok to take any herb by itself, yet when mixed with care with other healing herbs a really powerful combination may result--The whole is always greater than the sum of the parts
In the next newsletter we will deal with Nettle in the series called Street-wise-talking about medicinal properties of herbs found growing in the streets, garden and the wild.

Prevention of disease has been relegated to the back seat --- so much junk food clutters the minds of today’s folk.
Other factors such as stress and environment are also factored into the many causes that make for blood imbalances including the cholesterol scare which most of the time is just a scam.

By adding a few foods to your diet you can begin to change the flow of disease---celery and parsley in salads really have a general beneficial effect as do garlic and onions.

By cutting out some of the really unhealthy foods, you aid the body to restore itself to good health. Less oily foods—more bakes, Plastic salad dressing adds taste and lessens nourishment—use fresh lemon.
Look at the ingredients in mayonnaise.
